theft as a concept
This is what brought me down this morning. The Livejournal of a (Russian?) woman calling herself Popmasha. I came to her journal cause she used one of my StilinBerlin pictures without crediting it. When a commenter asked her why she's just not naming the source, she claimed her "concept" is to NOT mention the sources of her pictures, because she just doesn't care... I may still be too optimistic and too positive, but this kind of boldness shocks me. I am not getting used to seeing my pics claimed as someone elses work.
I am a supporter of Creative Commons, I support the idea of a more liberal way of sharing and publishing pictures also because I think that can only help me as a photographer.
I'm just thinking about sending her an invoice. Ha!
Update: She removed my pic after I sent a complaint to livejournal. But she continues posting pics without giving the credits. Apparently Livejournal is not interested in solving these issues.

Nicht jeder macht es anständig.
Hab auch schon schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht.
Am besten wäre es, wenn man die Fotos mit nem "Stempel" kennzeichnen würde.
Weisst du was ich meine?

she will get what's coming to her. If she is like that online.. trying to imagine what she would be like for real??
Don't get too worked up about this.. it's Internet means it takes all sorts.. crazy,, mean people.
At the same time there normal people like us.. sensible.

Dann vielleicht nur seitlich oder unten den Namen hinschreiben.
Aber das kann man ja leider auch schnell entfernen durch ausschneiden...schwierig.
über soviel dreistheit kann man nur mit dem kopf schütteln. hatte ihr auch schon mal ne mail dsbzgl geschrieben und sie hat es einfach als okay und selbstverständlich abgetan.

to not credit photos is unconscionable. this girl sounds very ignorant and rude.
Maybe there's a language barrier? I would hate to think someone would be that rude.
and gone --- und weg war sie... dabei hatte sie sich doch zu guter letzt noch an die quelle erinnern können --- even if she remembered the source at last.
no, she's not gone and still uses pictures without crediting them - she removed my pic, that's all livejournals has done
