I am struggling for words, since my initial plan, to write a praising text on Maria Bonita in Danziger Straße 33, was baffled today. I returned to this small place with my camera to take yummy pictures of the best Enchiladas and Tacos I have ever tasted... but had to learn, that it kind of lost some of its appeal. Ok, it was still good, the Tamal (pictured below, steam-cooked corn dough with meat filling in a banana leaf) was heartwarming as expected, but the mole of the Enchiladas and the slightly boring tasting Tacos failed to convince. It is still one of the best Mexican places in Berlin, or maybe even outside of Mexico, and therefor worth a try - maybe they will find back to the spirit of the beginning, when me and my friends had the feeling we found one of the best eateries in the world. But enough of all the gripe - they have handmade Tacos! And Mezcal! And melted cheese with Chorizo coming in a small tin bucket (that surely provides calories for two weeks)! And a gorgeous Guacamole! And great Tamal, as I said before.
