Today we had a short hint on what spring might be like... Berlin has an awfully long winter, covering the city from october to march in grey haziness... to keep me motivated to get over the last month of winter, I flicked through the pictures of last summer, finding these two pictures, both from may 2008, that tell me - it will, it must get better.
Izima Kaoru takes pictures of corpses in landscapes. He asks actresses to imagine their own death and stages that imagination with beaufifull designer gowns by Marni, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and the likes in a high gloss aesthetic. How intriguing.

Sorry if this posting is a little self-referential and follows a row of "I don't know what to blog about" postings... but I wanted to let you know about this article in the trade magazine Fashion Today written by a friend of mine, who tried to engage in fashion blogs and interviewed Mahret and me to write a review of fashion blogging:
It would be fatal to write off blogs merely as poorly researched opinion-shaping machinery. It would be equally fatal to forecast the demise of traditional fashion reporting as produced by the like of Vogue et al, due to the rise of the blogs.
And again almost one week without blogging done so easily.... I am so sorry, but right now I seem to be very bad in keeping pudri updated. Maybe because all I do is put up unworn shoes on ebay, study for university, listen to Diplo and keep working on my myspace blog. Not to blog is so easily done - I wrote the last entry last thursday and almost forgot to blog in the last 6 days... am I no good blogger? Am I not devoted enuff?
No, I just spend my days watching the crackling snow on the tree that I can see from my window, had some delicious dim sum at Item Idem's Ever Ever Altar Bar at 032c Museum store whilst looking at melted Louis Vuitton bags; skipped a reading by Julia Zange tonight and instead went to the halls of Sprüth Magers for the new Cindy Sherman works.

Strenesse is not my cup of tea. So whilst the beautiful models with the long and wavy hair processed past me, I focussed on who's in the front row.
Sameer Reddy from NYT The Moment feels like being at Project Runway.

I was in the need of new glasses for the last 5 years. I need to wear glasses and did not since I had only those quite ugly, unflattering ones I had to buy when I made my driver's license aged 18. My search for new ones took me from high class versions by Chanel & co (a lot of money to make me look like a provincial teacher) to the low (ordering on ebay, they never fit) - but not until I visited Lunettes Brillenagentur I could find a suiting one and the search was finally fun. The small store is located in Prenzlauer Berg (actually my kind of no-go area, except for Lunette's and The Hunter) inbetween dozens of baby-friendly cafés and stores. They sell unique vintage, but unworn glasses frames from the last centuries. And with the endless patience of the kind owner Uta backing up my search, after what felt like dozens of frames (which was fun though, transforming into the Lennon and the Honecker), I finally found the one, that seemed to have waited for me. 
Equipped with high-end technology synthetic glasses my old acetate frames are exactly what I wanted: light as a modern one, classic as in the good old days. Thanks Lunette!

At Bernhard Willhelm's exhibition I met my friend Natasha, who's doing the PR for Felder Felder and she slipped me a backstage pass for the show on the next day. It's been kind of exciting to see how a fashion show is working backstage - I was retreating from the center of the hectic, trying not to disturb any of the stressed out dressers and organizers (the models are the most relaxed persons backstage, except from when they're running in 12cm heels to change) and took my place on the stairs just next to the runway entry and pictured the bustle from above. I took a lot of photos, this is just a barely thought over choice, please visit my Flickr for more.
