last night left some questions...

Last night gallery weekend took off, Mitte is flooded with art people and I wanted to skip the pre-partys, openings, after-partys and whatever to attend the official festivities of my professor's birthday. However, I managed to take a quick look into Andreas Gursky's new exhibition at Sprüth Magers (as did Rainald Goetz), meeting J at the entrance who found it rather dissappointing. Maybe he was so disctracted by the giant shades of blue that he did not notice there was a performance going on - men dressed in black positioned like statues all over the room. Is Gursky trying to develop another means of expression? Were their positions re-forming the pieces of land in the pictures? Was it a work of Gursky at all!? Sadly it was neither described in the press text nor was it a topic at the vodka loaded afterparty under the dome of Postfuhramt. This location is beautiful, but occupied by a club that has been en vogue four years ago and since then faced a downfall into oblivion...
By the way, the most beautiful month of the year just began - happy may!

Happy May! Your posts always give me lots of things to Google! :-)
